Week 781

What’s this? I’m blogging about my work on a weekly basis – a simple way to track and archive whatever it is I spend my time on.

Last week was another holiday break week, even slower than the last one. I didn’t really plan for this, but it still happened, thanks to flu, and festivities around the new year and my mother’s birthday shortly after that.

On Monday, my The Hobbit movie game article was unexpectedly published in nrc.next, 12 days after the original publication in NRC Handelsblad. It’s online now, too. I also met up with Erik Coenen on Thursday, and with Hessel Bonenkamp on Friday. And on Sunday, I started sorting out the mess that two weeks of relative inactivity create. But that was pretty much it.

Maybe I should reflect on the new year for a second. The path for 2014 is pretty clear, I think. NRC and Official PlayStation Magazine should provide a steady monthly basis. And I hope there will continue to be some larger, consultancy-like projects to keep the financials healthy. I’m planning game-related trips to Finland and San Francisco.

Mainly though, I want to work on my personal projects, such as Ninja Gimmick Girl 2.0 (next milestone: grant application in February) and Sexy Sadie (grant application in July). I’m sure that many things will change along the way, but that’s the blueprint.
