Notes on week 856

With these weeknotes I track and archive whatever it is I spend my time on. They’re public so you can keep me in check.

Last week was a bit problematic, as I spent way too much time and energy on, and got way too frustrated by, stuff that’s ultimately not mission-critical. I won’t disclose what went wrong, in an effort to come off as professional and adult. Generally and reflectively speaking though, I feel like it’s currently way too easy to get me off-balance. I need to work on that. On the flip side, I did bounce back by the end of the week, sorting out heaps of scribbles and half-baked ideas, pouring tender loving care onto the grand Geometry Girl plan.

I spent a large chunk of my time on HKU stuff. On Wednesday I was at the Hilversum faculty all day, helping to judge students’ final exams. There were highs and there were lows; it was an educational experience, as they say. A day later I got around to checking my own students’ homework, which was overdue. I need to better schedule for that next year.

There was also Hubbub stuff, as in kids’ museum game copy, but not too much, and Two Tribes stuff, as I checked in with the RIVE makers on Friday to see the conversation system they’re cooking up for me (or rather, for my writing).
