Driving through the country

Notes on week 885

With these weeknotes I track and archive whatever it is I spend my time on. They’re public so you can keep me in check.

Final round of holiday weeknotes! As my family and I were driving through the country almost continuously (returning from the east, welcoming visitors at home for two days, and then going north for New Year’s Eve) I hardly got any work done. So again, these will be short.

I did clean out my mail, and researched possible Mailbox replacements. Spark looks interesting, but lacks a Mac companion app, which I can’t do without. Sanebox looks interesting, but seems expensive (and I’m not opposed to paying for software and/or services at all). So for now I’ll return to plain Apple Mail, combined with a few hotkeyed snoozing folders that I’ll deal with manually.

Finally I #hobbydevved with Hessel, working on pixel art and animation for my vertical puzzle defense shooter. It now has mechanical crabs as enemies, which lead to a few new game ideas. Despite this I still have no clue how to make it into a fun game, but I’m enjoying the process nonetheless.

Best wishes for the new year, by the way. I’m sure 2016 will bring a ton of interesting new work, and hopefully some finished projects too.
