Virtual Console Video Footage

Nintendo of America hosts a convenient “list of Virtual Console games available for Wii, including video footage”:http://wii.nintendo.com/virtualconsole.jsp. But why doesn’t the Virtual Console itself offer footage like this? And why does it still look and feel archaic?
