Week 681

What’s this? I’m blogging about my work on a weekly basis – a simple way to track and archive whatever it is I spend my time on.

Last week started in the bitter cold of Berlin, waiting for our train back home. It was early, and minus 8 degrees Celcius. Of course, we brought the temperature home, and it was going to be a very cool week indeed, further characterized by snow, and the fact that my youngest daughter was sick and her parents didn’t get a lot of sleep. The rest of the week pretty much flashed by.

In the train, I wrote most of my Global Game Jam coverage, including an article for Control Magazine.

Otherwise, I met up with some of the Bashers.nl guys, visited the Dutch Game Garden, sorted out a lot of notes and e-mails, wrote up To-Do’s, made plans, and constructed my 3 cubic meters of Ikea storage space bliss. This will be our de facto rommelzolder.

Over at Bashers.nl, we started looking for a new columnist (preferably a woman, for which we found some great candidates already) and I published my Star Wars extended universe piece from a while back.

Finally, I made a game design podcast with Joris Dormans, Karel Millenaar and our special guest Hugo van der Heiden, producer at Nixxes, the coding house that built the PC version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I hope to publish it next week.
