Week 742
- 742 8 april 2013 EN
What’s this? I’m blogging about my work on a weekly basis – a simple way to track and archive whatever it is I spend my time on.
Last week I spent a day at Hubbub, working on ‘Kaigara’. I also wrote a column for Tuesday’s nrc.next about Cart Life and the IGF’s (in Dutch): Het leven van een hotdogverkoper. And I wrote a very short review of Luigi’s Mansion 2 for Nintendo 3DS, which appeared on Thursday.
On Wednesday I visited Two Tribes to help finish the trailer for Toki Tori 2, which I wrote and co-directed. It came out on Thursday, together with the game itself. (There was a party that evening.)
The game held me hostage all week, I couldn’t think about much else. Or play much else, finally collecting all golden wings on Saturday. I wrote about this in a new edition of Recess!, which I finished this morning, but I’m putting it into these weeknotes because it was supposed to be published last week: Recess! 9 — A pretty nice home.
On Wednesday I also met with fellow writer Martijn Knol, who is now in the editorial team of literary magazine Tirade. We went over a story I originally wrote for a serious games conference, after which I renamed and edited it. Hopefully it will appear in the next issue.
Speaking of literary magazines, Your Daily Victory Boogie Woogie launched, including my first contribution (in Dutch): Ik vond dat altijd iets romantisch hebben. Check out Kars Alfrink’s blog post about the development of the game. If you’re into experimental writing, join us and add to the story!
