Talking about conversations
Notes on week 905
- 905 24 mei 2016 EN
With these weeknotes I publicly track and archive whatever it is I spend my time on.
Last week on Thursday night, I visited Info.nl in Amsterdam for the quarterly Behavior Design AMS event, where I gave a talk (photo by Iskander). The evening was all about the conversational interface, and after two more practical lectures about this, I did something more wide-ranging, talking about conversations in real-life, novels, games, and of course software. My slides are up on SlideShare.
Mostly, though, I continued my RIVE deadline sprint. I spent two days on it at Two Tribes and at least one at home, tweaking the story elements in the first eight mission (out of 12 or 13). It’s becoming more enjoyable at this stage, as I move from looking up against a huge pile of work to most of it being in place. All the fun little details start making a difference now.
In the background, work on Geometry Girl continued in collaboration with Maurice and Saskia, and I also did some work on the Antegods comic book project for Codeglue.
What else? I…
- Finished the first version of my article for Boekman, about product innovation in the literary space, and sent it off for a round of feedback.
- Got acquainted with Rob and Paul of the local escape room Get out of here. We’ll see whether something comes from this, which would be nice of course.
- #hobbydevved with Hessel, featuring more of me trying to get used to doing things in Unity. Which is turning out to be a slow and somewhat painful process.
- Toyed with Snapchat for a bit, recording and broadcasting the party my oldest daughter Mia threw. I like how that works.
