The final finally
Notes on week 907

With these weeknotes I publicly track and archive whatever it is I spend my time on.
Last week I finally pushed out my year-old Hanna Bervoets interview as part of the Hybrid Writer’s Podcast. The one with Annelies Verbeke will follow this week.
I also finally pushed out the majority of RIVE text to our voice actor. To make this possible, I spent two days at Two Tribes, and some more time at home tweaking everything. So, milestone get! What’s left is two levels, including the ending, interface text, and a bunch of loose ends.
Then the final finally: Dore, the creative writing student I’m mentoring finished her graduation project after a fresh (and belated) round of feedback from my side. She made something very interesting and surprisingly big.
Other than that, I…
- Worked on the Geometry Girl reading app, mostly coordinating with Maurice (code), Saskia (art) and Yorick (audio). Writing will continue this summer.
-
Revised my article about innovation in the literary world, for the fall issue of Boekman, based on feedback from the editor. After a short round of corrections with a copy editor, it’s now finished.
-
Visited Codeglue in Rotterdam, meeting with Wytze and Tom to discuss the current state of stonepunk arena action game Antegods. After that I went to Dordrecht to talk to a potential artist for the game’s companion comic book.
-
Visited Richard, Benjamin and Rahul at Q42 in Amsterdam. We continued talking about their 2D racing game Intergalactic Road Warriors, and I showed them my app prototype.
-
Found out that KIJK published an earlier column online, about Getting Things Done.
-
Attended the Playful Arts Festival, where I looked at some playful arts, listened to a few talks and helped Sytze playtest his story theater game Kaptka.
